We can't stop loving Mimi

We have some great friends, who are actually more than friends, from California, the Rivas family. Darlene Rivas, or Mimi as Garrett calls her, came to visit a few weeks ago. She and her husband Mike (Papa) became Garrett's California grandparents. They were at the hospital when he was born and were an integral part of that time in his life, when we were in California. Though we don't see them as often anymore, we make sure that he knows that they are a special part of our family. Mimi was just here for a weekend, but she made a big impact. G wouldn't let her out of his sight. We missed Papa, but we had a wonderful time together, and it makes us long for the next time together even more. The last night that Mimi was here, she prayed blessings over both the kids and held them tightly before saying goodbye. When she left G's room, his face looked sad, and he said softly, "I just can't stop loving her, Mommy." A sweet sentiment from a sweet boy, who won't quickly forget the love from his Mimi.
