Off and running

Ryan started the race this morning at 6am. We arrived at the race start and stepped out of the car to hear the razorbacks snorting over the loudspeakers, like they play every year. Nostalgic, I guess, if you've run this race before; annoying if you live near the lodge and woke up this morning to the super sonic snorting; crazy scary if you were camping near the lake last night. After checking in and getting their gear together (and maybe eating a piece of cake that someone made or ordered for the runners and crew), the runners lined up behind the starting line and gave a hog call, which is tradition at the start of the Traveller.
