Sweet siblings

G and Scout have always been sweet to each other, but lately they've really started playing together. G is great about playing on Scout's level and knowing what will make her laugh, and Scout is interested in pretty much anything G will let her do with him. Scout starts her day by saying "hiiiii" or "hah-yo" and waving to G, follows him around the rest of the day (occasionally taking a break for an additional "hiiii" and wave, in case the first one wasn't good enough), and then ends the day by giving her big brother a kiss (he's the only one who gets one consistently from her). She hates leaving him in his preschool class, reaching for him as we're walking away and trying to take off her sweater to show that she's not going anywhere. She laughs every time he does, and, conversely, cries when he does. Garrett is really proud of Scout, telling us about all of the new and amazing things she's doing, even if she's been doing them for a long time (i.e. "Look! She's clapping!") He loves chasing her, encouraging her to chase him, or playing fetch with her (she's the dog in that game). He is very protective, always telling me if she's put something in her mouth or is about to enter a potentially dangerous situation. He once called out to me from my bedroom, when I stepped into our bathrooom for a minute. When I ran in, they were both on our bed, Scout stretching for the edge of the bed, while he held tightly to her ankle to save her from falling. He tries to defend her when we discipline her (unless, of course, it's in his defense). He shares all of his snacks with her, even though she'd never dream of handing over any of her food to him. He tolerates her playing with his hair, though it's often painful, and, in turn, she's learning to be more gentle with him.

Ryan and I have been very blessed with two sweet children, who are also sweet to each other. I pray that their relationship continues to grow in love, and that they will always look out for one another. I always tell Garrett that out of all the people in the world, God chose to give them to each other, and that this relationship is very special. Here are some photos I captured of them playing earlier this week.

They will always share a special relationship. We were just talking to Ty about that last night on the way home from Care Group! It is comforting to me to know that Ty and Tucker (and Scout and G) will always have each other!
