Pumpkin Patch

We went to Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls for their pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago. It was actually my birthday, which is perfect, because I love Halloween. Sharing it with my kids and getting them into it is just icing on the cake - the big orange pumpkin cake, that is. It's important, too, that I teach the love of Halloween to Scout, since she, too, is an October baby. Last year, this was the last outing we did as a family of three, so it has a special place in my heart. Our little pumpkin was born three days later. My parents and sister came with us this year, and it was, of course, Scout's first post-natal visit. We had a really fun time on the hayride and taking great pictures in the many creative displays of pumpkins. Garrett's favorite was on top of a truck that he called Mater, the most beloved character around our house from the movie Cars. We ate lunch at the picnic tables there, visited with the farm animals and G and Scout practiced their tackling skills on my dad. The weather was perfect, too. The only slight downside was the dust that we all collected in our noses from the hayride. I felt a little guilty everytime that Scout sneezed black! We ended the day by picking out some cute pumpkins - G's favorites were the Pokemon ones - and headed back to the city.
