Disneyland, Day 1, Part 2

After the guys left to take the babies for their naps, Jamie and I took G and Anna back to Fantasyland, where we thought we'd try to see the fairies. Anna really likes Tinker Bell and the other fairies, so we tried it. We got detoured a little by both kids wanting to ride some things along the way. We rode the Casey Jr. Circus Train, where we sat in the wild animals cage, and the Storybook Land Canal Boats.

We finally found Pixie Hollow, which was more of a photo op, and less of a play place than I thought. As soon as I realized that, I thought G would be disappointed, since he doesn't really know about fairies or care, but it worked out. Since he was wearing his pirate shirt, the fairies acted frightened of him and asked if he was part of Captain Hook's crew. He assured them that he wouldn't hurt them and that he was a nice pirate. It was sweet, and actually amazing to me how fairy-like they were. They have good training.

After that, we met up with T, Parker and Emerson, who came to Disneyland after school. The first ride we did with them was Finding Nemo. It was so great. We were in a submarine, each with our own porthole. This ride got really dark, but G kept assuring me with a giant smile that he was okay with it.

The guys came back with Scout and Andrew and handed off the babies to us while they took the big kids on a go kart type ride. We split with the Ridgells and went on two rides with Parker and Emerson. We did the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, which is half ride, half arcade game. G spent part of some money that Grandma and Lito gave him on a laser gun that looked just like what you use on the ride. Scout did not appreciate all of the bad guys we were supposed to be shooting on the ride. The other ride we did together was Pirates of the Carribean. Later, G would tell us that it was his favorite. I was surprised how not-scared he was. Scout, on the other hand, kept going from one person's arms to the other, hoping someone would take her off the ride. She spent most of the time with her head buried in our shoulders. The gift shops are so perfectly placed in Disneyland, that we got stuck shopping for pirate gear after the ride. G spent the rest of his money on a pirate dagger and a Jolly Roger flag. We had planned on buying the kids some Mickey ears, and so we got him pirate ones, which were really so cute. He tried to talk us into buying him an expensive Jack Sparrow hat with the hair attached. I was able to talk him out of it, explaining that he already had a similar pirate hat at home and that God had given him pirate hair.

We met up with the Ridgells to find dinner, but everything was a huge wait. It was freezing outside, and we were starting to get desperate. Then, God had mercy on two tired and hungry families, and we found a restaurant that could seat us immediately. It was delicious. Ryan ran back to Disneyland (which sent a very tired Garrett over the edge) to meet Parker for the Indiana Jones ride, while the rest of us went back to the condo for baths and bedtime. Ryan also got to take Emerson to the parade, which he said was incredible.
